Jump Desktop 8.3.14 for iOS

Welcome to Jump Desktop 8.3.14 for iOS. This release adds many new features and bug fixes:

Dynamic Resolution Matching for Fluid

This is a powerful productivity feature that will make your remote desktop experience much better: Jump can resize the display on the remote machine to match your iPad/iPhone's resolution and orientation. This feature makes it much easier to remote control machines without pinch to zoom. Seeing is believing:

Dynamic Resolution Matching for Fluid

Tip: To manage your resolution settings: Tap the blue "i" next to your connection icon and then click Edit -> Display. You can also change settings live by tapping the top toolbar button and then tap the tool icon -> Change Resolution. Dynamic resolution switching is turned off by default for existing connections but turned on for new Fluid connections.

Known limitations: Jump will do it's best to match the resolution however it's limited by the capabilities of the remote machine's graphics adapter.

Wake-On-Lan for automatic connections

Jump will now try to wake up the computer if it’s offline before connecting. This works for machines on the same Wifi network. Support for waking up machines over the internet will be available soon.

Keyboard and mouse improvements

We’ve added horizontal scrolling support for RDP and Fluid connections. Just flick horizontally with two fingers to scroll. We’ve also added inertial scrolling, just like a regular Trackpad: Flick with two fingers quickly to see it in action. Swiftpoint mouse users can scroll horizontally too now by tilting their mouse pointer and flicking horizontally.

We’ve also made a ton of keyboard related fixes in this update: This release adds better compatibility with keyboard input to 3D applications and games. We’ve also made a ton of fixes for international keyboard users.

Important note: When connecting to a Mac using a physical keyboard, a few macros have changed for better compatibility with Mission Control: PgUp, PgDown, Home and End have changed to Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down/Left/Right. This frees up Ctrl+Up, Ctrl+Down for Mission Control. As always, if you need help with macros just connect to the remote computer and hold the CMD key on the physical keyboard to see the full list of macros.

Jump Desktop 8.0

This update brings remote support features, collaborative screen sharing, better mouse handling and tons of bug fixes!

Requirement

Screen Sharing features require the free Jump Desktop Connect app to be installed on the remote computer. Jump Desktop Connect is a free app that anyone can install by visiting https://jumpdesktop.com/go. Also, we've updated Jump Desktop Connect to 6.0. Connect 6.0 has tons of new features too. Read the announcement here: Jump Desktop Connect 6.0 Announcement.

Collaborative Screen Sharing

Collaborative Screen Sharing lets many users connect to the same desktop. Each user gets their own mouse cursor and can point and click without fighting over the same cursor. Great for editing documents with coworkers, tweaking designs with remote team members, creating presentations together, and teaching Grandma how to clean out her email.

Ask To Share Screen

We've added a new 'Ask to share screen' button for unobtrusive remote support. When connecting to computers over Fluid Remote Desktop, tap the new Ask button when prompted for credentials. Jump Desktop will ask the person on the remote computer if they want to start sharing their desktop with you. Once they accept, you'll be able to see their screen. No need to share passwords anymore!

Collaborative Screen Sharing Demo

Anyone can share their screen by sending you a link. You don't need to be an authorized remote access user on their machine or know their password to connect. All they need to do is install Jump Desktop Connect from https://jumpdesktop.com/go and click the 'Copy Link' button. Then send you the link. It's very simple, very quick and very powerful.

Better mouse handling for physical and on-screen mice

We've added support for 'non-linear acceleration curves' for mouse cursors. This means physical and on-screen mice feel more natural. This feature is enabled by default but you can always disable it in Settings -> Mouse & Gestures.
